The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has sued Asia Era One and seven guarantors to recover 13.34 billion baht in unpaid Airport Rail Link concession fees and default interest. The case was filed with the Central Administrative Court on October 21, 2026.

SRT is seeking 10.67 billion baht in principal and 2.66 billion baht in interest. The payment was due on October 24, 2021, under the public-private partnership agreement for the high-speed rail project linking three airports. Payment demands and contractual dispute-resolution proceedings failed to produce a settlement.

The defendants include Bangkok Bank and Siam Commercial Bank, which each provided a 1-billion-baht performance guarantee. Five corporate guarantors were also named: Charoen Pokphand Holding, China Railway Construction Corporation, Bangkok Expressway and Metro, CH. Karnchang and Italian-Thai Development.

SRT said the lawsuit would not affect Airport Rail Link passenger services, which continue to operate normally. It said legal action was necessary to protect state interests while maintaining passenger safety and convenience.
