Nam Theun 1 Hydropower Project in Laos PDR broke the World Record for RCC Placement in a single month
At the end of January 2021, the Nam Theun 1 Hydropower Project in Laos PDR broke the World Record for RCC Placement (*roller compacted concrete (RCC)) in a single month.
A quantity of 361,333 cubic metres was placed, with one contractor with a single RCC plant.
The average daily production was 11,656 cubic metres, with a peak of 16,463 cubic metres.
This was achieved by Sinohydro Corporation (the Contractor), with the direction and supervision of AFRY Switzerland Ltd (the Engineers responsible for the design, project management and site supervision of the Project).
The Owner is the Nam Theun 1 Power Company Ltd.
