More confident in electricity generating for Thailand

The Hongsa Thermal Power Company-based Sayaboury province signed an agreement on engineer services and construction management with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand in Vientiane Capital, on 14 September.

Signatories to the document were Mr Nonpol Mirintangkul, Managing Director of the Ratchaburi Holding Electricity Generating Company Ltd and Director Generator of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand in the witness of Dr Bou ntheuang Phengthavong, Head Office of Lao Ministry of Energy and Mines and high-ranking officials.

The Hongsa Lignite Power Plant with the generation capacity of 1,878 megawatts will surely start operation in 2015 and the electricity will be then distributed to Thailand as scheduled, Mr Mirintangkul confirmed.

Under the agreement, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand will conduct engineer services and construction management for Hongsa Lignite Power Plant, water resource supply for the plant, installation of power grid and construction of electricity station and exploitation of lignite supplying to the plant.

For the construction management, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand will carry out electricity generating test including inspection of other material equipment of the Hongsa Lignite Power Plant for six years till 2016.
