Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C) announced on Dec. 15 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the International Cooperation Bureau under Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) to cooperate in Vietnam’s urban development and industrial complex development.

Daewoo E&C president Kim Hyung met with key figures from the Vietnamese government, including National Assembly Speaker Vuong Dinh Hue, at Lotte Hotel in Seoul on Dec. 13. At the meeting, they agreed to cooperate to actively expand the Korean contractor’s investment in the Vietnamese market to rev up the Vietnamese economy.

The Korean builder also signed an MOU with Hai Duong Province for the development of industrial complexes and their neighboring areas. Hai Duong Province is 58 km away from the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi and is a key railway hub between Hanoi and Hai Phong, a port city.
