Cambodia’s new US$1.5 billion Phnom Penh International Airport now 30% complete

A new Phnom Penh International Airport with an investment of US$1.5 billion located in Kandal and Takeo province has been 30% completed.

The new US$1.5 billion Phnom Penh International Airport billion located in Kandal and Takeo provinces is now 30% complete according to the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation.

H.E Sin Chanserey Vutha, Deputy Director General Technical of State Secretariat of Civil Aviation announced the progress in a press conference on “Progress and Continuing Direction of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation” on the morning of 16 April 2020.
“… If we look at the aviation sector, we will see construction activity on the airport is progressing. According to the technical report that we received, the construction of the airport is about 30% complete,” he said.

This new Phnom Penh International Airport is a massive investment project by Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC) stretching over a 2,600-hectare plot with the first phase of the construction set to finish by 2023. (Read More)
