Bridgestone Corp. plans to build a radial OTR tire plant in Thailand. The company says the new plant will address increasing global demand for construction and mining vehicles.
The total investment for the plant is approximately $610 million.
Bridgestone says it will begin producing tires in the plant in the first half of 2015 in Amata City Industrial Estate, Rayong, Thailand. Production capacity is expected to reach approximately 85 tons per day by the first half of 2019.
Rim diameters will range from small to medium OTR tires (35 inches and below) to giant tires (more than 51 inches).
“The new plant will incorporate advanced environmental technologies which will contribute to resource conservation. The technologies will include a system for processing wastewater while manufacturing to maximize water reuse, and a cogeneration system.”
Bridgestone also produces radial OTR tires in Japan and the United States.
