Bangkok’s Purple Line construction 10% behind schedule

Construction News

The severe flooding in Bangkok has put the construction works of the Purple Line electric train route 10 per cent behind schedule, said Mass Rapid Transport Authority of Thailand Acting Governor Ronnachit Yaensaard.

As reported by MCOT News, he said today that MRTA is revising the construction plan. It is also waiting for a written proposal from the contractor, in seeking for government permission for a delay.

He added that aside from floods which keep construction site inaccessible, the contractor suffers from shortages of construction materials and workers. The contractor expects to return to the construction sites after New Year. The route running from Bang Yai to Bang Sue has now been 36 per cent completed.
