WHA Utilities and Power Public Company Limited (SET: WHAUP) reaffirmed its leadership in integrated energy solutions by continuously expanding its renewable energy portfolio through a major collaboration with Saha Farm Co., Ltd. The company will develop a 10-megawatt (MW) Solar Farm project integrated with a 20-megawatt-hour (MWh) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on over 65 rai of land in Lopburi Province.
The project is designed to enhance power stability, improve energy efficiency, and support Thailand’s industrial sector in achieving Net Zero targets in a tangible manner. Following the latest agreement, the total contracted solar power capacity that WHAUP provides to Saha Farm will increase to 56.47 MW, alongside a combined BESS capacity of 20 MWh, reinforcing the long-term partnership between the two organizations in advancing clean energy adoption.
Mr. Akarin Prathuangsit, Chief Executive Officer of WHAUP, stated that the company continues to deliver comprehensive energy solutions with a strong focus on expanding its renewable energy portfolio in both Thailand and Vietnam to meet rising demand for clean energy across industrial sectors, while supporting business partners in their transition toward a low-carbon society and sustainable decarbonization.
Most recently, WHAUP signed an agreement with Saha Farm Co., Ltd. to develop a 10 MW Solar Farm project integrated with a 20 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), representing another key milestone that reflects the growing trend of combining clean energy with intelligent energy management technologies in the industrial sector. The project aims to enhance both energy efficiency and long-term grid stability and is scheduled to commence installation in the second quarter of 2026.
“The integration of Solar Farm and BESS marks a significant step in elevating renewable energy solutions from power generation to comprehensive energy management. Not only does it enable customers to maximize the efficiency of solar energy utilization, but it also strengthens energy stability, reduces electricity cost volatility, and enhances operational flexibility for industrial users — all of which are critical drivers for sustainable decarbonization,” said Mr. Akarin.
Dr. Jaruwan Chotitawan, Chief of International Marketing, Chief of Accounting and Finance, and Secretary to the Executive Committee of Saha Farm Co., Ltd., stated that Saha Farm continues to advance its environmental initiatives under the company’s “Go Green” program.
“Saha Farm remains committed to driving business growth alongside environmental responsibility through our ongoing Go Green initiative. The project is expected to reduce Saha Farm’s energy expenses by more than THB 21 million per year on average, equivalent to approximately THB 294 million throughout the contract period. Over the project’s 30-year lifecycle, total energy cost savings are projected to reach approximately THB 1.647 billion, representing a major step toward strengthening energy stability for industrial facilities in Lopburi Province while enhancing long-term competitiveness through tangible operational cost reductions.

“This project enables Saha Farm to manage energy costs more effectively while strengthening energy stability for our facilities in Lopburi Province, which is crucial for maintaining operational continuity and long-term business sustainability,” she said.
Beyond enhancing energy reliability for Saha Farm’s operations, the 65-rai project in Lopburi Province will also contribute significantly to greenhouse gas reduction efforts. The project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 6,696 tons per year, or more than 200,900 tons cumulatively over the project’s 30-year lifecycle.
