Thailand to open first Park Hyatt hotel

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is planning to open a new property in Thailand, announcing it will unveil Park Hyatt Bangkok in 2014.

Revealed this month, the company said the hotel would be built for the Central Embassy brand and would be used as a modern mix-use building for business and leisure travellers.

The third Hyatt-branded property but first Park Hyatt in Thailand and expected to feature up to 222 rooms, the company’s global head of real estate and development Stephen Haggerty said the property represented the brand’s commitment to “gateway locations around the world”.

“The spectacular ‘twisted coil’ exterior design of this hotel will be a standout in Bangkok’s skyline and will reinforce the Park Hyatt brand’s long history of innovative design,” Mr Haggerty said.

As well as the Park Hyatt Bangkok, the Corporation has under development 17 other properties including hotels including; Além-Tejo, Portugal, Morocco, New York, United States, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, St. Georges, Bermuda and Vienna, Austria.
