POSCO Engineering wins US$260 mln order in Thailand

POSCO Engineering Co., a construction arm of South Korea’s largest steelmaker POSCO, said Tuesday it has won a US$260 million order to build a petrochemical plant in Thailand’s largest industrial complex.

Under the contract with PTT Phenol Co., POSCO Engineering will build the plant in the Map Ta Phut industrial estate, about 180 kilometers southeast of Bangkok, by 2015.

The plant will be capable of producing 250,000 tons of Phenol and 145,000 tons of acetone per year, according to POSCO Engineering.
