Max Bogl sets up in south-east Asia to supply Korat 1&2 Wind farms
Max Bogl is to set up a mobile factory in Thailand to build hybrid towers for the 207MW Korat 1&2 wind farms.
The German manufacturer has begun shipping 10 containers a day from it’s base in Sengenthal, Bavaria, to the village of Huai Bong, 260km north-east of Bangkok.
Around 3500 tons of materials will arrive in Thailand by mid-November, with construction of 90 towers for the wind farms in the Thepharak District scheduled to start in February 2018.
Bogl Wind director Josef Knitl said: “To better meet the global demand for wind turbine systems with hub heights between 130 and 180 metres we developed the concept of a mobile production facility.”
Max Bogl said it will use local resources and labour, with 25 staff from its German headquarters ion site to oversee operations.
