Kempinski to open second hotel in Bangkok, the Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok

Kempinski Hotels will open a new hotel in Bangkok in May this year.

The new hotel, Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok, is located within the Sindhorn Village, a mixed-use development, in the Langsuan neighbourhood near the Lumphini Park, an inner-city park.

The property will mark the second Kempinski hotel in the Thai capital, with the other one being Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. It’s also the second project between Kempinski Hotels and local property development firm Siam Sindhorn.

The new hotel will offer 285 guestrooms with sizes starting from 66 sqm. The interiors of the guestrooms will feature local Thai elements such as Phudtan (a local flower motif), Benjarong (a kind of painted Thai ceramics porcelain) ceramics, and patterns of the Rajabopit temple, a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, on the walls.

Each room will be equipped with a dining table, a bath with a separate shower, and a private balcony with a seating area.

There will be four dining outlets in the new hotel. Perched on the ninth floor, the Flow restaurant will feature plant-based cuisine with a “health-led” menu, offering locally sourced “100 per cent certified” organic produce. Meanwhile, the garden-view all-day dining eatery Flourish will offer Thai, European, Mediterranean, Asian and vegan cuisine with an open kitchen.

The hotel will also have a lobby lounge for afternoon tea or business meetings, as well as the Firefly Bar that will feature a Casa Del Habano cigar parlour and a garden terrace for cocktails and spirits.

As for recreational options, the new hotel will be home to a integrated spa, wellness and fitness concept Resense that will span 4,000 sqm. This spa will offer 26 treatment rooms including private suites, offering a “bespoke collection” of treatments and therapies focused on “detoxification, rejuvenation and prevention”.

Other facilities in the spa will include a Moroccan hammam, bio and salt saunas, a cold chamber, aroma steam room, Rasul mud room and a tepidarium lounge. Adjacent to the spa will be the hotel’s 25-metre saltwater infinity pool overlooking the Bangkok skyline.

The hotel will also house a range of fitness facilities with dedicated workout studios that spread over two floors, such as a studio featuring classes from Auckland-based fitness company Les Mills, a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) studio offering crossfit and virtual workout system, exercise studios for yoga and other high intensity classes, as well as a pilates studio with. There will be trainers on site as well.

The hotel will also offer event spaces that can accommodate 10 to 180 guests, including outdoor spaces situated in the hotel’s garden.

Commenting on the new property, Michael Henssler, chief operating officer of Asia and member of the management board of Kempinski Hotels, said:

“With the opening of our second property in Bangkok, we are pleased to enhance the guest experience even further by introducing a new take on a lifestyle hotel. From its thoughtful design to carefully curated personal services and wellness expertise, the hotel will elevate the Kempinski craftsmanship to new heights.”
