Danish consultancy firm K2 Management gets owner’s engineer job in 180 MW of Vietnamese wind projects

Danish consultancy firm K2 Management said today it has secured the role of owner’s engineer in two wind power projects in Vietnam totalling 180 MW.

The first contract was awarded by developer Xuan Cau and an international investor and is for a 60-MW onshore wind farm project in Binh Dinh province. K2’s tasks under the assignment will include holding a tender for the Balance of plant (BOP) activities in the pre-construction phase and providing full construction management through commissioning. The wind farm is planned to go live by end-2021.

The second deal will see K2 organise tendering, site studies and technical design review during the pre-construction of a 120-MW nearshore wind project in Soc Trang province. The Danish firm will also deliver construction monitoring and project management services during the installation phase, which will be split into two stages. The term of the contract, also placed by Xuan Cau, is 18 months.

Currently, K2 is working on four wind projects under construction in Vietnam, as well as on two pre-construction schemes.
