Chubu Electric Power Co. said Tuesday it has started commercial wind power generation in Thailand with two local companies in the largest wind farm project in Southeast Asia.

Located around 260 kilometers northeast of Bangkok, the Huaybong wind farm has a total of 90 turbines for a combined power generation capacity of 180,000 kilowatts. It started operation on Friday.

The generated power is being sold to the country’s Electricity Generating Authority for supply to local factories and households.
