Rolls Wood Group (RWG) has secured a long term maintenance agreement from Chevron Thailand Exploration & Production Ltd (Chevron) to service Rolls-Royce industrial gas generators operating at four separate offshore production facilities located in the Pattani Basin, 120 miles from Thailand’s southern coastline.

This five year £multi-million contract encompasses technical and engineering support, field service, repair of spares and major overhaul of Chevron’s varied fleet of eleven Rolls-Royce gas generators. This latest award follows a previous agreement signed in 2006, effectively providing contractual coverage for up to thirteen years in total.

Gas compression packages are essential for the production of natural gas from many offshore facilities. Chevron utilises Rolls-Royce gas generators to provide mechanical drive to power these systems, so reliability of this equipment is critical to operational performance.

Mark Forsyth, Industrial & Marine Business Director of RWG commented: “Chevron has a substantial fleet of Rolls-Royce gas generators requiring comprehensive support, both in the field and from our dedicated workshops. We’ve worked closely with our customer to overcome specific maintenance challenges posed by the local operating environment, so are well positioned to deliver a high level of equipment reliability throughout the term of this new contract.”
