Asian Construction Week to pool three events in one in Bangkok
IMPACT Exhibition Management Co is set to hold Asian Construction Week with three events of the construction and building industry wrapped into one.
They are BMAM Expo Asia, GBR Expo Asia and Concrete Asia.
From September 21-23 2016, 350 companies are expected to participate.
Total exhibition area is more than 10,000 square metres.
General manager Loy Joon How said yesterday that according to the Construction Institute of Thailand, the construction industry plays a key role in the country. It indicates the country’s development, generates high value, employs a large number of workers and distributes income to the general public.
Last year the construction industry grew by 12.2 per cent, the second-fastest in the past 10 years.
In the first quarter of this year, construction investment rose 8.3 per cent to Bt315 billion from the same quarter last year.
Investment from the government sector rose 11.6 per cent from mega-projects, while investment from the private sector grew 5.2 per cent.
Last year, the construction industry recorded Bt274.63 billion in work, mostly large-scale construction jobs overseas, excluding joint ventures and small and medium-sized construction projects, Loy said.
Impact Exhibition Management Co joined with Sphere Exhibits, the Asian Concrete Construction Institute and Globe International Events Consultancy to organise Asian Construction Week.
“We expect over 10,000 buyers to join the three-day event with an estimated volume of Bt1 billion.
“Most importantly, the event will promote Thailand’s building and construction industry to be the most outstanding in Asia,” he said.
BMAM Expo Asia – the ninth international conference on Building Maintenance and Facilities Management – will present the latest innovations in building maintenance and facilities management.
GBR Expo Asia – the sixth exhibition and conference on Green Building and Retrofits – is a business platform to showcase green-building construction and retrofit technology with interesting conferences from green-building experts such as the Thailand Green Building Conference.
Concrete Asia is an international trade exhibition and conference for the concrete, tunnel and building construction industry.
