Amata VN Plc preps B5.7bn project to develop its fifth industrial estate in Vietnam’s Phu Tho province

Amata VN Plc, a subsidiary of Thailand’s industrial estate developer Amata Corporation, has received Vietnamese government approval to develop its fifth industrial estate in Phu Tho province, with an investment value of 5.7 billion baht.

The estate is expected to reinforce Vietnam’s growing appeal to foreign investors, said chief executive Somhatai Panichewa.

Amata City Phu Tho will cater to electronics and technology companies seeking to expand or relocate operations to northern Vietnam, she said.

“The estate is designed to be eco-friendly, in line with Vietnam’s net-zero emissions target,” said Mrs Somhatai.

Hanoi announced it plans to strike a balance between greenhouse gas emissions and absorption by 2050.

The company received its investment registration certificate on Dec 23, 2025, following months of cooperation with the Vietnamese authorities.

The groundwork was laid on May 16 when Amata VN and the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee signed a memorandum of understanding, establishing a long‑term partnership.

Under the agreement, the province pledged to streamline administrative procedures and support the project’s implementation.

Covering roughly 476 hectares, Amata City Phu Tho will be developed in two phases. The first phase spans 239 hectares and is forecast to serve investors until 2029, with the second phase to be completed in the remaining area by 2033.

“Amata will leverage its expertise and global network to attract high‑quality investors, particularly in high‑tech and environmentally friendly sectors,” said Mrs Somhatai, adding that land clearance support from local authorities would be crucial.

Amata VN already operates three industrial estates — Amata City Bien Hoa, Amata City Ha Long and Amata City Long Thanh — while Quang Tri Industrial Park is under construction.

These projects have drawn more than 220 tenants, including Fortune 500 companies, under Amata’s “All Win” philosophy of shared success and sustainable value.

Tran Duy Dong, a representative of Phu Tho province, praised Amata’s proactive approach, noting that the project would attract investors and contribute significantly to local socio‑economic development.

Strategically located in the “Northern Gateway”, Amata City Phu Tho offers strong connectivity and is positioned to become a key industrial hub, he said.

Last year Amata Corporation celebrated 50 years in business, vowing it would continue to develop industrial estates in Thailand, Vietnam and Laos, while seeking new business opportunities.
