AFRY gets job on 30-MW expansion of Thai floating solar site

Swedish energy and infrastructure consultancy AFRY (STO:AFRY) has secured an engineering service contract for the planned expansion of an existing 60-MW floating solar photovoltaic (PV) site in eastern Thailand.

The new owner’s engineering service assignment was awarded by National Power Supply Public Co Ltd (NPS) which is seeking to expand the capacity of the facility by adding a further 30 MW.

AFRY has been hired as the engineer for the tendering, design and construction of the complete 90-MW floating solar project, the company said in a recent statement. The existing capacity was connected to the grid earlier this year.

NPS is already planning another expansion of the site, which is located in the province of Prachinburi.
