Thailand’s new M81 Motorway (Bang Yai–Kanchanaburi) opens for trial run of all eight toll gates for 4 days in October 2025
The Department of Highways will open the M81 Motorway (Bang Yai–Kanchanaburi) for a trial run across all eight toll gates from 3 p.m. on October 10 to 9 a.m. on October 14 to ease travel during the long holiday weekend.
The 96-kilometer route will be toll-free during the trial period. The M81 connects Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, and Kanchanaburi and serves as an alternative route to the South, helping reduce traffic on Kanchanaphisek and Phetkasem roads.
Only four-wheeled vehicles will be allowed during the trial, with a maximum speed of 80 km/h for safety.
