SPET Monthly Members Meeting

“Recent Developments in Pipe Jacking” By Ben Hayes

This talk was originally scheduled on 25th August 2016 but which unfortunately had to be postponed due to overseas travel.

Ben started his career with Kennedy Construction in 1993, a medium sized tunnelling contractor based in Manchester, England, involved with pipe jacking and small diameter segmental tunnelling projects. Through a combination of part time and full time education he graduated with a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from John Moores University Liverpool 1998. Since graduation he has worked on the contracting side on some large tunnelling projects including Dublin Port tunnel and Pak Shing Kok Railway tunnels in Hong Kong. He was the construction manager on the world first completely offshore pipe jacks on Dubai’s Palm Island project, installed to link parts of the island with cable tunnels. He is currently responsible for the Sales and Project Management of Herrenknecht’s utility tunnelling range of equipment in the regions of Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.
Entry fee is Baht 200 for Members of SPET and Baht 400 for all others.

The next SPET monthly meeting TBA will be held on 17th November 2016.
