Please find the attached flyer for the next meeting to be held at the British Club, Soi 18, Silom Road, Bangkok at 6.30pm on Thursday 21 November 2019.

“Introduction to Tony Gee” By Iain Mowatt MSc BSc(Hons) FCIOB ACIArb POSHA MHKIE(Ret)

A short presentation to introduce proper Temporary Works controls, peer reviews, the designer’s responsibility and Systems Assurance on Tony Gee’s (contractor’s specialist design) bridge capability and introduction to HK-Temporary Works forum (TWf).

SPET’s speaker Iain, is a Civil Engineer with a post graduate degree in construction management. He has
worked on client side project management in Thailand and for contractors and a consulting engineer in Hong Kong.  He was the Engineering and Risk Manager for a Leighton Gammon JV for one of Asia’s largest construction projects, the USD3 billion Express Rail Terminal in West Kowloon and then  head of Temporary Works for Gammon Construction. Iain took over the temporary works function at Gammon following a major failure of temporary works with a view to overhaul the way temporary works were designed, certified and constructed.   He is the current chairman of the HK-Temporary Works

Iain is the holder of the Derek Smythe award for leadership in safety in construction, awarded for his pioneering work in temporary works, both for Gammon and TWf.

Iain  now  works  for  Tony  Gee  and  Partners  as  the  business  development  director  for  Asia.    He  was  a  past chairman of the Lighthouse Club Asia Pacific Chapter.
