Road construction project kicks off in Cambodia’s Kampong Chhnang province

Workers and officials officially launched the construction of concrete roads in Kampong Chhnang.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the construction was held on November 15. The ceremony was held with the Deputy Governor of Kampong Chhnang, Song You, in attendance.

The Deputy Governor of Kampong Chhnang City, Hing Phav Mina, said that the roads will be constructed in Koh Krabei Village, Sangkat Phsar Chhnang, Kampong Chhnang City. There will be 6 stretched of concrete roads constructed in total.

According to an official, the roads are constructed to facilitate travel in the area. the official also said that the constructions of the roads are part of the special attention of the government for the people.

Deputy Governor Phav Mina stated that the residents of the area were experiencing difficulty in travel due to the rainy seasons and the lack of proper roads. The roads that will be constructed will be 15 metres wide in some areas and 10 metres wide in other areas depending on the conditions of the land the roads will be constructed on. All the roads will be constructed a metre and a half high. These projects are funded by the Royal Government.

Officials apologized to the residents of the area for any inconvenience caused by the construction. Currently, heavy machineries began to operate in the roads.
