New five-storey Chip Mong Noro shopping mall in Phnom Penh ‘reveals opportunities’

The five-storey Chip Mong Noro Mall in Boeung Keng Kang I (BKK1) district was officially unveiled to the public yesterday.

Situated in one of the most popular districts of Phnom Penh, Chip Mong Noro Mall will become one of the most sought-after residential areas in the city centre, resulting in improved business in the area.

Chip Mong Retail, a subsidiary of Chip Mong Group, has invested about $300 million in Cambodia. Some of its most successful projects include Chip Mong Monivong Supermarket, Baktok Chip Mong Mall and Sen Sok Chip Mong Mall – all in the capital.

Stephane Pierron, president of Chip Mong Retail, said that Chip Mong Noro Mall’s floor area is 17,900 square metres in a five-storey building on 7,500 sqm  of leasing space.

The tenants include the familiar food and beverage retailers, restaurants, cinemas, Chip Mong Supermarket, other  retail shops and branded goods imported from countries including Thailand, the United States, China, Singapore and Canada, said Mr Pierron.

Leang Khun, chairman of Chip Mong Group, said the mall was designed with architectural expertise and construction was overseen  by experienced engineers using modern technology to ensure its quality and beauty and compliance with international standards.

“Our shopping malls have been carefully designed with lavish exteriors and interior spaces to offer a range of options for rent as well as state-of-the-art security systems, large parking areas and great convenience for shoppers,” said Mr Leang.

“The mall was designed mainly to focus on the combination between a modern building and nature to ensure that visiting customers feel fresh and happy.”

Mr Leang said investments in retail space and shopping malls are on the rise in the Kingdom. “This means that business people have an ever wider choice when it comes to choosing a partner for their enterprises,” he said.

In addition, he said Chip Mong tries to make the beauty of the mall suitable for the city centre, the heart of Phnom Penh. This is a building that not only boosts the image of Phnom Penh, but it has created jobs for construction workers.

He added that the expansion of the business operations of Chip Mong has reflected the long-term vision to seek and develop the country’s economy and society.
