New 3rd runway at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport 6% complete – expected ready for service by August 2023
94 flights/hour and 90 million passengers annually expected

Daily News quoted a deputy at the Airports Authority of Thailand as saying that despite the Covid pandemic the development of a new runway at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok was 6% complete.
Contractors NWR had been clearing the area for Runway 3 and installing fencing on both the “airside and landside”.
It is expected to be ready for service in August 2023, said Kirati Kitmanawat.
Capacity for flights will increase from the present 68 per hour to 94 per hour.
And capacity for passengers will increase from 60 million per year to 90 million at Bangkok’s main airport hub.
