Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has bagged three international orders totalling $889 million for hydrocarbon projects, the $11.7-billion engineering conglomerate said on Sunday.
“Pipeline for hydrocarbon projects is largely good. Energy sector has picked up in the Gulf and we are bidding for a number of tenders in UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Saudi Arabia,” Krishnamurthi Venkataramanan, president (engineering and construction projects) told ET.
“In India, order inflow from refiners is slow. But ONGC is likely to award orders worth Rs 7,000-8,000 crore by September and we would be bidding for all of them,” he added.
The orders won by the company include Abu Dhabi Gas Industries’ Habshan-Ruwais-Shuweihat Gas Pipeline Project worth $189 million, scheduled to be completed in 24 to 26 months.
The second order is a $450 million project from ADMA-OPCO, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. The project would be completed in 27-29 months.
L&T has also bagged a $250 million project from PTTEP International, a subsidiary of Thailand’s PTT Public Company. The project would be delivered in 24 months.
“We are looking at increasing our presence in Thailand and the region around it all the way up to Australia,” Venkataramanan said.
Company’s order book was worth Rs 130,217 crore as on March 31.
