Bangkok, Thailand, October 19, 2023 – Today, Kellanova, formerly known as Kellogg Company, held a formal groundbreaking ceremony for a new state-of-the-art Pringles® plant in the Chonburi province of Thailand. The 73,800 sqm Kellanova Chonburi Plant will be the company’s first Pringles® plant in Thailand as it looks to increase production capacity in line with its long-term strategy.

The decision to invest in a new Pringles® plant in Thailand is an important step in our journey to achieve our global vision of becoming the world’s best performing snacks-led powerhouse. The plant will play a crucial role in supporting the company’s long-term ambition for growth in the Asia Pacific region guided by our purpose to create Better Days and a place at the table for everyone through our trusted food brands,” said Steve Cahillane, Kellanova’s Chairman and CEO, during the ceremony.

Representing an investment value of over THB 7 billion (US$200 million) and expected to create over 150 local jobs, this project underscores the company’s commitment to Thailand. Together with the company’s presence and partnership with its existing business operations and Cereal plant in Rayong for the past three decades, this newest plant reaffirms the success of the Royal Thai Government’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) development policy to accommodate industrial progress with Thailand continuing to be a preferred manufacturing base amongst global companies.

Our expansion in Thailand is part of our long-term strategy to strengthen our manufacturing network as we continue investing in our future with our differentiated brands. With its robust infrastructure, favourable operational environment and skilled workforce, we are confident that Thailand is the right strategic choice for our new Pringles® manufacturing plant. This is incredibly promising as AMEA (Asia Pacific Middle East Africa) is now the biggest snacking region size-wise[1] and Pringles® is amongst the fastest growing crisps brands in the region,” said Shumit Kapoor, President of Kellanova AMEA, during the ceremony.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by members of Kellanova’s senior management as well as the company’s key distributors, suppliers and local partners including from Rojana Industrial Estate where the plant is being built. Representatives from the government including Mr. Banjong Sukreeta (Director General of the Department of Industrial Works, MIND), Mr. Rongrit Kusonlakumbot (Assistant of Governer, IEAT), Mr. Manit Inmek (Director of Laem Chabang Industrial Estate), Mr. Thumrong Ampornratana (Senior Investment Promotion Officer, BOI) Ms. Nuntanut Suraphan (Investment Promotion Officer) and Mr. Anusak Priyaamorn (Nongyai Senior Assistant Chief District Officer of Chonburi) among others also graced the event.

Kellanova, the global snacks-led powerhouse with a portfolio of world-class brands – including Pringles®, Froot Loops®, Rice Krispies Treats® and more – expects the plant to be operational in 2025. Kellanova’s Better Days Promise – the company’s Social and Environmental strategy – will guide the end-to-end processes at the new plant in ensuring sustainability is at the heart of the manufacturing facility.
