IHG To Open Yao Yai Resort In Thailand In 2020
The 170-room resort will offer visitors a taste of luxury in a breathtaking environment.
Phang Nga Bay is a pristine area located between the Thailand mainland and Phuket Island. Beautiful in many ways, this island area offers fabulous views of limestone cliffs, small uninhabited islands and luscious mangroves filled with wildlife. It is a popular destination for many travelers and one of Thailand’s best kept secrets.
Now, International Hotel Group (IHG) has announced that it will build a luxury resort on the main island in Phang Nga Bay, Koh Yao Yai. The 170-room resort will offer visitors a taste of luxury in a breathtaking environment.
Guests will have many different rooms to choose from at the new development. Some rooms will offer views of the ocean, with a top floor providing a panoramic view of the ocean and surrounding area, coupled with a plunge pool. The family suites will be dedicated to family fun, with amenities that include family adventures in and around the resort, such as pool access, water slides, as well as the signature Planet Trekkers’ Program.
For those looking for a more exclusive experience, villas will be available either next to the beach or by a luxurious pool setting. The hotel will also include a spa, gym, three different luxury restaurants and several banquet and meeting rooms.
Phang Nga Bay already attracts over 5 million visitors a year, and the number is expected to grow as more people discover this hidden paradise between two of Thailand’s most popular destinations. IHG wants to be one of the first to bring luxury hotel accommodations and experiences to the area.
Construction will begin shortly, and the new hotel is set to open for the 2020 travel season. The company has not provided a specific opening date at this time.
