Eneos Vietnam Co Ltd, a unit of Japanese oil company Eneos Corp, has acquired a 19% stake in the operator of a 35-MWp Vietnamese solar plant from Shizen Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

Named Hau Giang Solar Power Plant, the solar park is operated by VKT-Hoa An Joint Stock Company, in which Shizen Malaysia holds a 51% stake. It is operational since December 2020 and is the result of a partnership between Shizen Malaysia and Halcom Vietnam JSC.

The Vietnamese government has taken actions to raise the country’s renewable energy ratio to 40% by 2045 as electricity demand grows 10% per year, the announcement by Japanese renewable energy firm Shizen Energy Inc says.
