Design stage of China-Thailand high-speed rail project from Nakhon Ratchasima to Nong Khai reaches completion stage

Phase 2 of the China-Thailand high-speed rail project, covering a distance of 356 kilometers from Nakhon Ratchasima to Nong Khai with a budget of 330 billion baht, has reached the completion of the design stage, said Deputy Transport Minister Surapong Piyachote.

Its environmental impact assessment (EIA) has also been approved.

Preparations are currently underway to submit the project to the Cabinet for consideration by September this year, with bidding and the commencement of construction anticipated within 2024.

The project is expected to be operational by 2029.
