Construction of Phnom Penh Logistics Center (PPLC) planned to commence In November 2022

The construction of Phnom Penh Logistics Center (PPLC) is planned to kick off in November this year.

The information was revealed by Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport while receiving a courtesy call from Ambassador of Singapore to Cambodia Ms. Teo Lay Cheng and Lavan Thiru, Executive Director at Infrastructure Asia (IA), at the ministry office in here on Wednesday.

The meeting aims to discuss cooperation between IA and Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and to report the progress of feasibility study of PPLC development project.

Thiru informed the minister that the feasibility study of PPLC project, conducted by Singapore-based YCH Group and PricewaterhouseCooper (PwC), has reached 50 percent and it will be completed in mid-April and submitted to the ministry for consideration.

In reply, Chanthol appreciated the study progress, and requested YCH Group to study the possibility of partnership with the ministry to put into use electronic vehicles (EVs), master plan of sewage treatment plant and other development projects.

The minister also informed his guests about the cooperation between the ministry with UNDP to install EV charging stations and the establishment of showroom for EVs in coming March, and draft policy on road transportation to boost the use of EVs to reduce CO2 emissions. L Vy – AKP
