Cambodia’s New Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport construction 40 percent completed

The new Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport project has so far achieved 40 percent completion.

Tek Reth Samrech, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, said that the construction of Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport will be 70 percent completed by the end of this year. Construction of the airport will be completed by March of next year.

Operations of the airport will be launched on October 2023.

During a visit to inspect the progress of the construction of Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport earlier this week, Samrech confirmed that the construction process of this international airport is progressing slower than planned due to materials from China not arriving in Cambodia yet.

The construction of Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport began in March 2020 by Angkor International Airport Investment (Cambodia) Co., Ltd (AIAI) with an investment of approximately $880 million.
