Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, has added Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel to its portfolio, effective 1 March, when the group took over the management of the former Four Seasons.
Located in prestigious Rajadamri in the city’s Siam district, the hotel is now the brand’s flagship in its home market of Thailand.
The property started its career as the Peninsula Bangkok. It was rebranded The Regent after a change in ownership and later flagged Four Seasons.
Four Seasons will manage a new hotel on the Chao Phraya River that is due to open in 2016.
Minor Hotel Group, the hotel’s owning company, also confirmed an investment of USD20 million to enhance the hotel over the coming months.

Minor Hotel Group, chief executive officer Dillip Rajakarier commented: “We are excited to reflag this property in central Bangkok to our core luxury Anantara brand.
“The property has a great history and will become the brand’s flagship here in Thailand and we are confident that as Anantara Siam it will continue as one of the city’s leading hotels.”
The hotel, located opposite the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. comprises 354 rooms and suites.
With the addition of Anantara Siam Bangkok, the brand now includes 34 properties in 10 countries. Anantara has a pipeline of more than 10 future properties and continues its strategic expansion across its current footprint, including expansion into more countries.
