Progress on Cambodia’s Highest Bridge Construction

The construction team is making significant strides as they roll out asphalt to complete Bridge No. 28, currently the highest bridge in Cambodia. This vital infrastructure project is part of the National Road 10 construction initiative, which aims to enhance regional connectivity.

Following a temporary closure to the public during the Khmer New Year celebration from April 11 to 17, 2025, the project resumed full force. According to a post shared by the Ministry of Public Works on social media on April 24, construction activities are now at a crucial phase. The team is actively rolling asphalt and preparing for the bridge’s completion.

In addition to the asphalt work, crews work on various essential secondary tasks. These include the installation of handrails, safety barriers, traffic signage, reflectors, and lighting systems—all critical components for ensuring the safety and functionality of the bridge.

Scheduled to open to the public in June 2025, Bridge No. 28 is a key landmark in this ambitious project. With an impressive height of 90 meters, a total length of 537 meters, and a width of 10 meters, the bridge is situated in Chhay Luk village within O Som commune, Veal Veng district of Pursat province. The project has been financed with a national budget of approximately USD 25 million, executed by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and overseen technically by Guangzhou Wang An Company.
