Future TV broadcasting rights of English Premier League in Thailand goes to Jasmine International
True Visions said its customers will be able to continue watching the English Premier League on its platforms until the end of this season or May 2025, after Jasmine International secured exclusive broadcasting rights for Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, effective next season. As part of the agreement, JAS will hold exclusive rights to stream the Premier League, including live broadcasts, replays, and highlights. JAS has also formed a partnership with the MONO Group—including MONOMAX and MONO29—to support marketing and distribution efforts. The deal is reportedly valued at 19.17 billion baht. Following the announcement, JAS’s shares saw a 5% increase this morning. Ong-Ard Prapakamol, Chief Media Officer at True Corporation, stated that while True Visions participated in the bidding process, JAS presented a higher offer. He also emphasized that other leagues, including La Liga and the Bundesliga, as well as the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, will continue to be available on True Visions.
JAS’s CEO, Soraj Asavaprapha, said the agreement initially spans three years, with an option to extend to six years, covering exclusive broadcasting rights to the English FA Cup. Content will be primarily available via the MONO MAX app, in partnership with AIS, which has the infrastructure and experience to handle high viewership volumes through a stable and scalable platform. The bidding process secured the rights for six Premier League seasons, at a total cost of US$549 million (approximately 18.79 billion baht) for the full six-year term. Viewers will have access to the content primarily through MONOMAX, a streaming service, and MONO29, a free-to-air channel owned by MONO NEXT. The content will be distributed across all major networks and mobile operators, including the App Store (iOS), Google Play, AIS, and TRUE, to reach the broadest audience possible. In terms of subscription fees, Soraj confirmed that prices will not exceed current levels and could be set lower, capped at 400 baht per month with a uniform pricing policy across all platforms. The broadcasts will feature Full-HD streaming quality with adaptive bit rate technology to ensure optimal viewing based on the user’s internet speed and device capabilities. 4K streaming will also be available, and selected matches will be aired on the free-to-air channel MONO29.
