Final report on feasibility study for Phnom Penh’s Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge construction released
After the long wait by the government and residents of Phnom Penh, the final report on feasibility study conducted for the construction of the Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge was released.
At the direct request of Prime Minister Hun Sen, the South Korean government has now agreed to provide a loan for the construction of this important bridge.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a nearly $250 million bridge loan will be signed on December 9 under the presidency of the Premier.
Mr Hun Sen said in the past that the bridge will be built from the night market, span across the Tonle Sap to Chroy Changva, then from Chroy Changva and across the Mekong to Arey Ksat, Kandal.
The Premier said that the bridge will facilitate waterway traffic, and that the bridge will also contribute to the relief of traffic on the Chroy Changvar Bridge.
