The band beat the Arctic Monkeys and Johnny Cash
Coldplay’s mega hit ‘Clocks’ has been voted the greatest song of the last 10 years by BBC 6Music listeners.
‘Clocks’ was released in 2003 and achieved massive success all over the world.
It entered the top 10 in UK and won the prestigious Record Of The Year at the 2004 Grammy Awards and critics still hail the song as being one of band’s greatest musical triumphs.
The BBC 6Music conducted the poll to celebrate a decade on the air.
Listeners were asked to vote for their top 40 tracks of the past 10 years from shortlist of a 100 songs.
Coldplay topped the poll and were follwed by ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ by the Arctic Monkeys. ‘One Day Like This’ by alternative rockers Elbow finished in third place.
