The Board of Investment has approved investment privileges for 10 projects worth 25 billion baht.
Industry Minister Chaiwuti Bannawat said the 10 projects are:
Furnish Board Co will invest 2.6 billion baht to produce 330,000 cubic metres of plywood fiber per year in Hat Yai, Songkla;
Vanachai Group will invest 1.25 billion baht to produce 240,000 cubic metres of particle boards per year in Saraburi;
Energy Industrial Park Co will spend 6.5 billion baht to produce 140 million litres of ethanol per year in Nakhon Ratchasima;FJiang Min Sheng, a Chinese investor, will spend 4.61 billion baht to make 1.05 million radial tyres and compounded rubber with a capacity of 50,000 tonnes per year in Ratchaburi.
Silvano Fini will produce four-stroke, 500-cc motorcycles with an annual capacity of 17,000 units in Rayong.
CK Regent Systems Co will invest 32.9 million baht to recycle activated carbon in Chon Buri,
Synthetic latex for medical equipment will be produced in Rayong,
A 36.39-megawatt bio-energy project valued at 1.75 billion baht will be built in Kalasin; and
A solar energy plant worth 900 million baht will be built in Chon Buri
Amata B. Grimm Power Rayong Co will produce 117 megawatts of electricity and 30 tonnes of steam per hour at Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong.
Meanwhile, the agency also approved flood-relief plans for BoI-promoted companies affected by recent floods.
The manufacturers are entitled to duty exemption for imported machinery brought in to replace equipment damaged by the floods. The companies must apply for machine imports by Dec 31 this year.
The privilege will be made available to any BoI-promoted companies affected by floods in the future as well.
The latest survey found there are four companies _ three in Saraburi and one in Nakhon Ratchasima _ hit hard by the floods.
