Thailand ranked 5th on Scrap Car Comparison’s list of the scariest countries to drive in
The UK’s scrap car price comparison website conducted a survey with a sample size of 2,000 motorists from 10 countries, including the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Italy, and Spain. Participants were asked to rate their nervousness about driving in each country on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 indicating no nervousness and 10 indicating extreme nervousness.
India topped the list with an average score of 7.15, followed by Venezuela (6.97), Zimbabwe (6.9), Morocco (6.87), and Thailand (6.86). China ranked 6th, while other ASEAN countries—Malaysia, Vietnam, and Singapore—placed 10th, 13th, and 17th, respectively.
Scrap Car Comparison explained that driving on the left in Thailand can be unfamiliar for some motorists. They also noted that motorbikes are prevalent on the roads, often weaving through traffic and potentially distracting drivers.
