Ministry of Transport denies plan to relocate Bangkok Port from Khlong Toei for an entertainment complex
The Ministry of Transport denied reports of a plan to relocate Bangkok Port from Khlong Toei to make way for an entertainment complex, though part of its area may be used for this purpose.
Deputy Transport Minister Manaporn Charoensri stated that there has never been a policy to relocate Bangkok Port, only plans to enhance its efficiency for water transport and logistics.
The development strategy focuses on optimizing the use of all 2,353 rai of land, improving underutilized areas through zoning for transportation, residential, and commercial use under the Smart Port plan. However, she noted that the port area is one of the possible locations for the development of an entertainment complex, with more clarity expected when the government announces its policy.
