The closure of the Kasetsart intersection planned for this weekend has been delayed until Tuesday as the contractor needs more time to move in heavy equipment.
Italian-Thai Development Plc (ITD) had decided to change the schedule to demolish a flyover at the intersection, originally set from Friday to Sunday, said Pol Lt Col Pisanu Kosiyawat, deputy traffic chief at the Bang Khen police station.
The company will now seek police permission to close the intersection from Nov 10-15 between 10pm and 5am each day, he added.
The change is being made because ITD first needs to bring down two pedestrian bridges on Phahon Yothin Road to clear the way for heavy equipment to be moved to the intersection.
ITD is building the Green Line mass-transit route from Mor Chit to Khu Kot in Pathum Thani for the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA).
An MRTA official said all outbound lanes on Phahon Yothin Road would be sealed off during the closure, while one inbound land would be opened for road users.
