Contractor who abandoned 1.2 billion baht construction project for Trang Airport’s terminal has contract terminated

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has terminated the contract and seized the 53 million baht deposit from the contractor who abandoned the 1.2 billion baht construction project for Trang Airport’s terminal.

On November 8, CAAT terminated the contract with Port and Marine Corporation (P.A.M.) and seized the 53 million baht performance bond to repair damage caused by the contractor’s neglect, including water leakage, ceiling damage, dead trees, and stolen electrical cables.

A committee was appointed on November 21 to assess the damage and estimate the budget for hiring a new contractor.

The assessment is expected to be completed in 45 days.

CAAT still aims to open the terminal in March 2025.
