Construction on Bangkok’s Rama 2 Road expected to be completed within 2026
The constructions on Rama 2 Road are expected to be completed within 2026, said Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, who came into office less than a month ago.
The 8.3 km Bang Khun Thian–Ekkachai section of M82 is now complete.
Today, authorities have inspected the route, installed traffic signs, and finalized drainage systems.
The section will open for public trial use without tolls starting October 22.
Motorists can connect from the Kanchanaphisek Expressway and Outer Ring Road to M82 via the Bang Khun Thian–Ekkachai Interchange, easing congestion on Rama 2 Road.
Phiphat also instructed agencies to accelerate the remaining 16 km of M82 to meet the Songkran 2026 target, enhance safety at high-risk points like the Tha Chin River bridge, and improve traffic management during peak hours.
