Construction of Cambodia’s 26-story Phnom Penh Polytechnic Hospital kicks off
The private sector launched the construction of the Phnom Penh Polytechnic Hospital.
The ground breaking and Krong Pali Ceremony was held at the construction site with the representative of the Phnom Penh Polytechnic Hospital, Dr Chhun Lay, in attendance. The construction site is at Sangkat Veal Vong, Khan 7 Makara. The construction is expected to be complete in four to five years.
The soon to be built hospital is reported to be 26 floors high and will also have three underground floors. The new hospital has a 150 to 200 bed capacity. The hospital will also be able to facilitate the treatment of patients with modern medical equipment. The representative of the hospital representative confirmed this.
This is the newest addition to the fleet of private clinics in the capital city and part of the program to streamline health services and expand the mechanism of providing public health services headed by the Governor of Phnom Penh and relevant authorities. As of 2021, there are seven OD healthcare offices, one referral hospital, seven district hospitals, 43 health centres, as well as 2,757 private health facilities. These hospitals provide medical services to people of all backgrounds.
