Bangkok ‘homebuilder show’ aims to stimulate demand
The Home Builder Association of Thailand is seeking to further stimulate the market during the second half of 2010 through the annual Home Builder 2010 event which takes place on August 18-22 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in
Themed under the ‘Trend & Beyond’ concept, the five-day event is expected to be the biggest ever in terms of the number of exhibitors, which will include leading home builders, construction material suppliers, financial institutions and property media. The HBA predicts the event will generate on-site sales figures equivalent to last year.
HBA’s President Vibul Chantradilokrat believes the event will be an important mechanism to stimulate the market in the second half after it was considerably impacted by economic and political factors during previous quarters.
“The home building market has been considerably hit by political unrest. Sales were affected, so it is expected that this event will help to stimulate the market and enhance confidence among consumers. The HBA will also prepare more and better promotions for this year’s event”.
Vibul added each exhibitor will also offer special promotions. These campaigns, coupled with the pent-up demand from Q2, will make this event a dynamic one.
He said “Though it may be rather difficult to give a fair projection, the Association will consider this event to be a success if it can generate the same amount of on0site sales as last year – THB2.4 billion (US$74.3 million)”.
Home Builder 2010 will feature a variety of innovative housing models, construction materials from more than 40 companies, as well as special financial products and offers from local banks and financial institutions.
