Dutch company AkzoNobel is planning to spend over €30m to build a new manufacturing facility in Thailand in order to support regional growth of its Performance Coatings business.
Being supported by the Thailand Board of Investment, the project includes construction of a 120,000m² site within the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in Chonburi.
The new facility will have an initial capacity of 45,000t per year, and production on the plant is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2016.

The new manufacturing facility will support several Performance Coatings businesses, including Metal Coatings, Protective Coatings, Specialty Coatings and Marine Coatings, as well certain products from the company’s Decorative Paints business.
