He added that as Cambodia attracts more institutional capital and multinational tenants, expectations around safety performance are becoming more explicit. “Developers and owners are being asked to demonstrate that their assets can meet international standards over the full lifecycle of a building,” he said.
These themes resonated with participants from across the construction and consultancy community, many of whom pointed to safety performance as an emerging pillar within environmental, social and governance (ESG) frameworks.
